ORGANIC SOIL ASSOCIATION

ORGANIC SOIL ASSOCIATION

The British Organic Soil Association, is closely involved in the certification of organic products from a wide range of areas where organicism is practiced. Its logo identifies over 70% of all organic products on the market in the UK. The organisation makes sure that products meet strict criteria that guarantee the high quality of the ingredients used (at least 70% must come from regulated organic farming) and other conditions that take into account how products are processed, stored and packaged.

The Organic Soil Association was founded in 1946 in the UK with the main aim of promoting the care of our planet through the promotion of organic farming and organic processing of raw materials. Another requirement is that products must be safe for consumers.

Products with the Organic Soil Association logo must meet strict certified requirements that include a minimum of 70% organic ingredients. The rotating amount must be stated on the label. If the Organic Soil Association logo is on a product and the percentage of organic ingredients is not stated, it means that the organic certified ingredients content exceeds 95%.

The conditions for certification are not only based on proof of the organic origin of the ingredients, but also on the method of production and packaging. The organisation also bans products containing parabens, genetically modified organisms, sulphates and petroleum derivatives, as well as animal testing. Products must not contain animal ingredients.
