AFIC HALAL AUTHORITY
AFIC HALAL AUTHORITY, the first and longest running halal certification authority in Australia, is an organisation governed by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils. It operates as part of AFIC's not-for-profit network with a core mission to enable Muslims in Australia to access products that comply with Islamic standards.
Hard fact: Halal certification applies not only to food, but also to other consumer products such as cosmetics. Its core principles are to meet religious requirements, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards and respect human values.
Products bearing the halal certification must continuously comply with specified criteria - from the raw materials used to the production processes to the final product. All ingredients and ingredients listed on the products are also part of the control. Consideration is also given to the origin, method and sources of supply of production items, which must meet Islamic and humanitarian requirements.
