CCPB

The CCPB, a company from Italy, certifies products that are organic and ecological, not only in the cosmetics and cleaning products sector, but also in organic farming, food products, traditional specialities, geographic localisation, veganism and vegetarianism, textiles and clothing, and even in the accommodation and tourist services sector.

CCPB designed a special certification system as a regulatory mechanism for the cosmetics and cleaning products industry. The type of certification granted to a product depends on the percentage of raw materials from organic farming. There are two options: a certificate for organic cosmetics and for cosmetics with organic ingredients.

If you want to get a certificate for organic cosmetics from the CCPB, you must meet the following criteria:

• At least 95% of the ingredients must be natural or of known natural origin,
• at least 10% of all ingredients must comply with Regulation 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products,
• 95% of the natural ingredients must be certified according to Regulation 834/2007.

As regards obtaining the label for cosmetics with organic ingredients, the product must meet the following criteria:

• at least 95% of the ingredients must be natural or of natural origin,
• at least 5% of the product must comply with Regulation 834/2007,
• 70% of the natural ingredients must be certified according to Regulation 834/2007.

CCPB has also stipulated that certified products must not contain petroleum derivatives, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrance essences, genetically modified ingredients and formaldehyde.
