CPK BIO
The Czech certificate for natural cosmetics, known as CPK, is a guarantee that the product meets certain standards. Among other things, this means that the use of harmful substances and synthetic ingredients is prohibited and that care must be taken to respect nature. In addition, the version labelled "organic" promises that at least 20% of the content is made up of ingredients from organic farming.
CPK BIO is a stricter version of the CPK certificate. The basic requirements do not differ, but to be certified "organic", the product must contain more than 20% organic ingredients. Certification is provided by the independent body KEZ - Control of Organic Agriculture.
The key to obtaining the certificate is to use only natural ingredients, which must be harvested in a sustainable way. It is also necessary that the product contains raw materials from organic farming, the quantity of which is indicated on the packaging. It is also important to be environmentally friendly and to minimise the impact on nature.
The product must not contain synthetic compounds, harmful substances, genetically modified ingredients, petroleum derivatives, synthetic fragrances, chemical preservatives, artificial colours, chemical UV filters and substances of animal origin obtained at the cost of animal life (with the exception of lanolin, honey and milk). And products must not be tested on animals.
Like many foreign certification bodies, CPK focuses not only on the composition of products, but also on the method of production and packaging material. Environmental acceptability and recyclability of packaging are required. For more information, please visit http://www.kez.cz/prirodni-a-bio-kosmetika.
