Bio Eco Cosmesi is a national Italian certificate that not only emphasises the most natural composition of the product, but also the recyclability of the packaging material and the production method, for example.

The Bio Eco Cosmesi certificate is awarded by the Italian Institute for Ethical Certification (ICEA), which aims to protect the environment and consumer health.

One of the main and most important conditions for obtaining this certificate is the use of only natural raw materials sourced as much as possible from organic farming or controlled collection in the wild.

Great emphasis is placed not only on the natural content of the cosmetics, but also on the packaging and the method of production. The Italian Organic Farming Association promotes production using the latest environmentally friendly technologies and does not allow the use of ionising radiation. Packaging in recyclable packaging and sufficient and comprehensible labelling of the ingredients on the product's packaging is a prerequisite.

Natural cosmetics with this certificate must not have been tested on animals and must not contain substances harmful to health. For this purpose, an extensive database has been created including prohibited substances (e.g. PEG derivatives, silicones and silicone derivatives, aluminium, etc.). Genetically modified raw materials and animal raw materials whose extraction involves the death of the animal are not allowed.
