ICADA
International Cosmetic and Devide Association
ICADA is a certification that is provided to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the field of organic cosmetics. Its aim is to enable consumers to distinguish between products made by SMEs and those produced by large corporations, thus supporting regional businesses.
The ICADA (International Cosmetic and Devide Association) Premium Seal of Quality is a licence that allows only those companies whose products are so-called organic and natural to use this certificate under contract. This means that they do not contain raw materials from GMO production, mineral oils or other substances originating from the petrochemical industry, such as perfumes. ICADA-licensed manufacturers aim to offer products that are exceptional in quality compared to conventional manufacturers and discount brands. ICADA works primarily with small and medium-sized professional manufacturers of natural cosmetics and cleaning products, relying on their knowledge and experience to harness the power of nature in their manufacturing and supply processes. This enables the successful sale of organic cosmetic and personal care products.
ICADA certification protects small and medium sized specialist manufacturers and ensures that their manufacturing processes and knowledge are in line with the principles of natural cosmetics. It also separates them from large suppliers who generally base their business strategies on claims designed to give the consumer the impression that they are buying a natural product when in fact the ingredients do not comply with the normal rules for natural cosmetics certification. With ICADA certification, the consumer is assured that the product they are buying has been produced in accordance with ethical business principles, high quality and in line with modern conservation principles. At the same time, it consciously supports businesses that are not linked to the production of large international concerns.
Why ICADA?
ICADA is a premium brand that has strict criteria for certifying authentic companies that focus on the production of organic beauty and cleaning products. Certification is only available to those who apply a manufacturing philosophy based on natural ingredients. This ensures that their quality is not eroded by generic competition and also makes these companies easier to identify in the marketplace. Certification is not available for large corporations and for organic products from standard outlets.
With certification, the consumer recognises that the product comes from a small or medium-sized entrepreneur who produces his products organically and with safe ingredients. At the same time, they are assured that it is a company with solid management, transparency and high ethical standards. The certificate guarantees that the manufacturer is competent in the field of natural cosmetics and personal care, and the company's employees also meet the high standards. Emphasis is also placed on ensuring that the manufacturer is always up-to-date with the latest developments in the fields of dermatology, natural sciences and personal care. After a transition period, 80% of the applicant's products must meet ICADA requirements. The ICADA logo clearly identifies companies as authentic providers of pure natural cosmetics. It is therefore not to be confused with products from companies that use the misleading label "natural cosmetics" but actually use, for example, mineral oils and synthetic perfumes in their products.
