Soda is a great all-purpose cleaner and odor absorber. It can be used in laundry, cleaning, and deodorizing, in the kitchen, and for removing odors. Since it is also used for consumption (for example, in cakes and baked goods), it is completely safe for health.

Baking soda, known as baking powder or a remedy for heartburn, has a wide range of uses in an eco-friendly household. Do not confuse it with washing soda! As a versatile cleaner, it effectively removes grease and odors, and its crystalline structure acts as a gentle abrasive without the risk of scratching surfaces. It can also be used to extinguish small household fires. Its decomposition by heat into sodium carbonate, water, and carbon dioxide ensures safety and environmental friendliness. It was first produced in 1791 by the French chemist Nicolas Leblanc.
