Origin and properties of individual ingredients:

Laundry detergent SONETT contains soap as the main active ingredient, which is made from various vegetable oils, including palm, canola, coconut, and olive oil, by cooking with lye. The oils are partly sourced from organic or biodynamic production. Soap, as an active cleaning agent, uniquely combines all the necessary properties for the washing process, such as wetting, dissolving, and absorbing dirt.

Soda is produced by transforming lime with table salt. ORTHOSILICATE is formed by melting silica sand and soda. Soda and orthosilicate enhance the alkaline nature of the washing lye and support the release of fatty substances. Zeolite A and layered silicate have siliceous rocks as their raw material. In addition to binding calcium in water, these components also bind organic substances dissolved in the washing water and color pigments, preventing them from depositing on the laundry. A coconut oil derivative supports soap in its function of dissolving fats.

Biodegradability:

Soap from vegetable oils has the unique ability, compared to all other cleaning agents, to immediately combine with the calcium always present in wastewater to form calcium soap, neutralizing its surface effect on aquatic organisms (primary degradation). The calcium soap is then 100% decomposed by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). During the production of sugar surfactants and coconut derivatives, parts are obtained from plant-based raw materials of starch, sugar, and fat, which remain fully preserved in their natural structure. Therefore, it is easy for microorganisms to fully degrade these surfactants. Soap, sugar surfactants, and coconut oil derivatives are considered easily biodegradable by the OECD.
