The Rinse Perfectly Replaces Fabric Softener, dissolving soap residues from laundry and facilitating their rinsing. This makes the laundry softer and smoother, and the colors brighter. Additionally, it provides a pleasant lavender scent thanks to the essential oil. It is vegan friendly, not tested on animals, boasts the EcoGarantie certification, and is suitable for people with allergies and sensitive skin. It is also suitable for tumble dryers and is particularly effective in areas with hard water (which you can determine using test strips).

Usage:

Do you use fabric softener? And did you know that its main purpose is to coat and smooth textile fibers, typically achieved with chemicals complemented by artificial dyes and perfumes?

The Rinse neutralizes the alkaline washing bath due to its acidic reaction, which is especially important for people with sensitive skin, eczema, allergies, and small children, whose skin is much more permeable to chemicals than adult skin. The natural pH of human skin is acidic (pH 4-6), protecting it from the proliferation of microorganisms. In contrast, soap, washing soda, and other detergents are alkaline. Unrinsed residues of detergents in laundry therefore irritate the skin, and it is good to neutralize them with a rinse.

The Rinse also prevents the buildup of detergent residues in textile fibers, thus preventing the graying of clothes. The fibers regain their natural properties (towels absorb again) and appearance (brighter colors). We also recommend using the rinse when washing in hard water, where the active ingredients of detergents precipitate with minerals contained in the water.

The Rinse is scented only with natural lavender essential oil.

Hand washing: After washing with detergent, add the rinse to clean water during hand washing, let it sit for at least 10 minutes, and then rinse the laundry.

Machine washing: Add the rinse to the fabric softener compartment for the final part of the wash cycle.

Why replace fabric softener with a rinse?

Most of us associate fabric softener with fragrant and soft clothes. However, few realize it was originally developed to remove static electricity from synthetic textiles, and if used on cotton or functional clothing, it is a waste of money, risks skin irritation, and deprives natural materials of their inherent absorbency. Fabric softener acts like a hair conditioner: it smooths the fibers by coating them. This reduces the absorbency and breathability of textiles, so fabric softener should not be used on underwear, towels, dishcloths, bed linens, baby diapers, infant textiles, or functional sportswear—essentially anywhere you expect the laundry to wick moisture or absorb liquids. Additionally, conventional fabric softeners contain synthetic fragrances. These chemical scents bind to the fabric and can cause skin irritation or allergies.

Fragrant and soft to the touch, that's what laundry washed with conventional products is like. However, it can also contain chemical residues from detergents that irritate the skin. The rinse ensures that the textile is cleaner and suitable for the sensitive skin of eczema sufferers, allergy sufferers, and small children.

If you occasionally wash by hand, you know that thoroughly rinsing laundry is quite a task and often one rinse isn't enough. In the washing machine drum, there is significantly more laundry, but due to the pressure to save water and electricity, rinsing may only last a few minutes with a limited amount of water.

Conventional detergents contain a cocktail of chemicals that ensure their high effectiveness, along with artificial dyes and synthetic fragrances. Some of these chemicals remain in the laundry and can cause various health issues. Adding an extra rinse, choosing wash programs with more allocated water, and using gentle detergents help. The rinse, however, can do even more.

According to skin pH

The Yellow & Blue Lavender Extract Rinse operates on a simple principle. Detergents are usually alkaline, but the natural pH of our skin is acidic (pH 4-6). This naturally protects the skin from the proliferation of unwanted microorganisms. Contact with alkaline detergent residues that adhere to laundry and are activated by body heat is therefore not favorable. The citric acid-based rinse neutralizes the rinsing bath and helps wash out problematic substances from the textile.

Using the rinse also benefits the laundry itself. It prevents graying, staining, and "hardening" of textiles and restores the absorbency of textile fibers. It is very suitable for washing in hard water, where the active ingredients of detergents precipitate with dissolved minerals (especially calcium and magnesium) and settle in the textile and washing machine.

The rinse only needs to be poured into the fabric softener compartment. Because it is based on citric acid, there is no risk, as with vinegar, of damaging the plastic and rubber parts of the washing machine. The rinse replaces fabric softener and, unlike it, is also suitable for cotton and functional fabrics.

Fabric Softener Only for Synthetics

The original purpose of fabric softener is to remove static electricity from synthetic textiles. It acts like a conditioner—smoothing textile fibers by coating them. However, this reduces their absorbency and breathability, traps detergent residues in them, and also contains synthetic dyes and fragrances, which can cause skin irritation and allergies.

The laundry rinse contains no dyes or petrochemical derivatives, and its gentle scent is provided by the bio essential oil from lavender, known as Lavandin. Therefore, it is suitable for allergy sufferers, eczema sufferers, small children, and people with sensitive skin.
