Effective dishwasher detergent. Effectively removes grease stains and dried-on food residue. Not suitable for silver, lead crystal and hand painted porcelain.

Dosage: 15 - 30 ml per wash cycle. Pour the product into the appropriate container. Follow your dishwasher's manufacturer's instructions.

The dishwasher's water softener should be set at 8° dH (German degrees) above the local water hardness. For example, if you have a water hardness of 16° dH (2.86 mmol/L), you should set the unit to 24° dH (4.29 mmol/L).

Caution: if you have a built-in electronic water softener, it is not advisable to use Sonett Eco-friendly detergents.

Product Special Features

We do not use aggressive chlorine bleaching agents, phosphates, synthetic silver preservatives, enzymes, etc. with this product. Yet, this cleaner handles heavy soiling excellently.

Origin and properties of each ingredient

Silicates are obtained by melting sand with soda and due to their alkalinity, they are able to transform dish grease and make it water soluble. The adhering food residues are soaked and loosened by these silicates. Soda, made from table salt and lime, disperses the grease into fine droplets, thus promoting the ability of the silicates to dissolve the grease. Citrate, obtained from the fermentation of sugar by-products such as molasses, is added to dishwasher detergent to bind calcium in the wash water and protect the dishwasher from calcium deposits; in fact, many dishwashers have been known to inadequately soften the water despite the built-in ion exchanger (water softening device).

Biological degradation

Soap loses its surface tension-reducing properties (primary degradation) immediately after use, in an immediate reaction with the calcium always present in the wastewater. The calcium soap is then 100 % decomposed into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Sugar wetting agents and coconut oil derivatives are obtained by chemical conversion using acids from raw materials of purely vegetable origin and completely retain their natural structure. It is therefore easy for microorganisms to completely break them down. The ethanol is returned to its natural cycle within a few hours.

Note: For perfect effect, SONETT dishwasher polish and regenerating salt must be used regularly.
