Vitamin E is an essential vitamin that is widely used in health and cosmetics. It is also known by the names tocopherol, tocopherol or tocopheryl acetate. Its importance to the human body is immense, as it acts as a powerful antioxidant, i.e. a substance that protects cells from damage. In our body, vitamin E is involved in protecting blood cells, the heart and the nervous system. Our body is unable to produce this substance on its own, so we have to take it in the diet or in the form of supplements.
Vitamin E is used in a number of products. In cosmetics, it is appreciated for its moisturizing and regenerating properties, which is why it can be found, for example, in creams, serums or skin masks, but also in many types of shampoos, conditioners and other hair products. Thanks to its ability to soothe the skin, it is also used in sunbathing and after-sun products, as well as in products designed for sensitive skin. In the food industry, vitamin E is added to various oils, margarines and other fatty foods to increase their nutritional value and extend their shelf life. Vitamin E also plays an indispensable role in health-promoting products such as various multivitamins and dietary supplements designed for athletes, the elderly, but also for people with specific health needs.
