Natto Gum
Harm score: 1 (Natural substances)
Natto Gum, also known as Pearl, Pearl powder or Hydrolyzed pearl powder, is an ingredient that is increasingly appearing in cosmetic products. It is a product extracted from ground pearls, which is then hydrolyzed to improve its absorbability. Thanks to the active ingredients that pearls contain, this powder has a number of beneficial effects on the skin. Among other things, it helps maintain its elasticity, improves its hydration and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Pearl powder, or Natto Gum, is most often added to skin creams, masks, but also to serums that serve as intensive skin care. Hydrolyzed pearl powder can also be found in some types of makeup, where it contributes to its soft texture and creates a radiant effect on the skin. Exceptionally, it can also be found in some types of shampoos and conditioners, where it is thought to add shine and strength to the hair. It should be added that although it is a product of natural origin, some people may react to it with allergic reactions. It is therefore advisable to test the tolerance of a product with this ingredient on a small section of skin before using it for the first time.
