Tomclover, better known in the world as bison grass (Hierochloe odorata), is a plant that is becoming increasingly popular not only in gardening but also in traditional medicine. It is a perennial with smooth, glossy leaves and strikingly fragrant flowers. And it is because of its exquisite fragrance that this plant is particularly popular. It is native to the cold regions of the northern hemisphere and can be found in the mountain meadows of the Krkonoše Mountains or Sumava.
Zubri grass has a wide range of uses. Its fragrant leaves and stems are used to produce essential oil used in aromatherapy. This oil has relaxing effects and helps to relieve stress. Furthermore, this plant is used in the food industry. The Zubrovka liqueur, which is based on the fragrant tomclover, is particularly popular in Russia and Poland. The plant is also used to make herbal teas and infusions, which have a wonderful aroma and pleasant taste. In cosmetics, bison grass is used fragrance in perfumes or in body and skin care products. Its extracts are valued for their antioxidant properties and ability to regenerate the skin. Bison grass is also used to make scented sachets for wardrobes to repel moths, or in home fragrancing.
