How does the egg work?
The Laundry Egg contains two types of special natural mineral pellets - black tourmaline and white mineral pellets. It is this combination of mineral pellets that is responsible for clean and fragrant laundry. The tourmaline pellets condition the water and the laundry is beautifully soft and gentle after washing. The mineral and tourmaline pellets ionize the oxygen molecules in the water and change its pH. This makes the water softer, the water molecules shrink and penetrate deep into the fibers. This thoroughly removes proteins and fats from the laundry - the two main components of dirt. The mechanical movement of the egg in the washing machine drum helps to remove the loosened dirt from the laundry without damaging the clothes.
In the washing machine, the egg forms a fine natural foam, which is created precisely by the movement of the egg in the water and the action of the mineral pellets. It is not as intense as in conventional detergents and this is because it is not created by diluting the chemical ingredients.
The egg washes using activated and treated water molecules, leaving no residual chemicals in the textile that need to be removed from the fibers during the soaking process. Therefore, there is no need to add any detergent or vinegar to the wash.
White mineral pellets are infused with a blend of essential oils that make the laundry pleasantly fragrant. You no longer need to add fabric softener to your laundry.
How to use the egg and what to watch out for?
Fill the egg with the included white and black pellets, close well and start washing.
The egg washes effectively even at lower temperatures. Washing is possible at a maximum of 60 oC. Higher temperatures could damage the egg and degrade the washing pellets.
The egg is designed for a normal washing machine and normal washing volume (6-8 kg). If you have a larger washing machine, you need to use 2 Ecoegg Washing Eggs per wash
The Washing Egg is suitable for washing all types of laundry.
You can also use it for hand washing. Put the egg in a container of water, leave it in the water for about 15 minutes and then you can wash the clothes.
The composition of the washing pellets is gentle and without harmful chemicals, the egg is also suitable for washing children's laundry.
If you want to wash very delicate fabrics like silk and so on in the washing machine, put it in a protective bag and then you can use the washing egg.
If there are stubborn stains on the laundry, treat them with stain remover or bile or olive soap before washing.
You can also use the egg to wash functional clothes.
If you want to wash softshell fabrics or clothes with special impregnation, we recommend using specially designed detergents for this. The Washing Egg will also wash such clothes, but it does not have the ability to restore the special properties of these membranes.
Do not add any additional detergent or vinegar or products containing alcohol to the wash. Vinegar and alcohol can degrade the laundry pellets, shrinking them and reducing washing efficiency. In this case, small white particles may remain on the clothes when washing dark laundry.
The egg is not suitable for use in washing machines where there is a combined washer and dryer. If you decide to use it in such a washing machine, you must switch off the washing machine after the end of the washing cycle, remove the egg and then start the drying cycle. Otherwise, the egg could be damaged and deteriorate during the drying process.
The egg is suitable for all common types of washing machines. If you have a steam washing machine, you can only use the Washing Egg on programs where you are washing with water.
After the washing is finished, the Washing Egg should be removed from the machine and allowed to air dry naturally. If you are washing multiple wash cycles in a row, the egg may remain in the washing machine. Take it out when you are finished washing that day.
The pellets in the egg shrink with washing. When they have reduced in volume by about half, it is time to refill the egg with a new batch of pellets. You can also tell that it's time to refill the pellets by the total volume of pellets in the larger part of the egg dropping below the surface about 1 cm from the edge.
Black tourmaline pellets do not shrink and do not need to be replaced or refilled.
When you need to refill the egg with pellets, you only need to buy separate refills. You can use the egg (packaging) for up to 10 years.
