Epilobium fleischeri is a perennial herb belonging to the genus Epilobium fleischeri, which is part of the family Onagraceae. The tiny quadruple flowers open in July and August and are a beautiful pale pink to purple colour.
Willow is often used in the pharmaceutical industry and alternative medicine. In folk medicine it is known for its healing effects on disturbed prostate and bladder metabolism. Therefore, it is often used in the production of dietary supplements intended for men suffering from prostate problems. It is also often included in herbal teas, which are good for boosting immunity and supporting prostate health. Willow extract is also used in cosmetics, for example in products for the care of sensitive and irritated skin, as it has soothing and anti-inflammatory effects. Some species of willow have also been shown to have antioxidant properties, so it is also used in anti-age cosmetics.
