Water is a life-giving substance that is an essential component of our planet and our bodies. Scientifically, it is known as H2O, which refers to its chemical composition - two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. In English it is known as "water" and in Latin nomenclature it is often referred to as "aqua". Without water, life as we know it would not exist.
Water is a versatile substance that is used in countless applications. It is the basis for most beverages, from pure drinking water, to teas and coffees, to various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Water is also essential in the food industry, where it is involved in cooking, baking, preservation and other processes. In the pharmaceutical industry, water is used as an ingredient in many drugs or as a vehicle for their application. In the cosmetics industry, 'aqua' is often listed as the first ingredient in the list of ingredients, indicating its indispensable role. Water is also needed in the energy sector, whether it is used to cool power plants, to generate steam in thermal power stations or as a source of energy in hydroelectric power generation. Last but not least, water is used in cleaning and janitorial products, where it is often the main ingredient.
Today, the importance of protecting our water resources and keeping water clean is becoming increasingly apparent. Without water, not only would our households and industries cease to function, but, above all, it would be impossible to sustain life on Earth. Whether we call it water, aqua or aqua, its value is priceless.
