Another important product is tomato paste, which is the basis of many sauces and soups. Tomatoes are also often used in the production of various types of preserves, marinades and jams. It is also used in the diet in its fresh form, both in salads and in the preparation of sandwiches or as a side dish in many dishes. Some types of tomato are also suitable for drying and then using as sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil.
