Sapropel mud, also known as sapropel mud, is a unique organomineral mud that forms as a result of the putrefactive processes of microorganisms in freshwater lakes. Its permanent occurrence is mostly in cool, freshwater lakes and ponds with a thick layer of organic matter on the bottom. It is rich in nutrients, bioactive substances and minerals. Due to its unique properties and high content of organic and inorganic components, it is used not only in agriculture but also in other sectors.
In agriculture, sapropel mud is used as a fertiliser because it is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It is also an excellent soil improver as it increases soil fertility and improves the water and air regime. In the cosmetic industry it is used for its antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It enters into the composition of various creams, masks, shampoos and other cosmetic products. The last important area of its use is medicine. Here, sapropel mud is used in various therapeutic procedures, such as the treatment of arthritis, skin diseases or rheumatism.
