Harm score: 2 (Derivatives of natural substances)
Quartz powder, also known as Quartz, Micronized rose quartz, Rose quartz powder, Crystaline silica or Crystallizde silicon dioxide, is an organic material made from one of the most common minerals on earth - quartz. Quartz powder is valued for its versatile use. This crystalline mineral is characterised by its high hardness, temperature and chemical resistance and, above all, its high content of silica oxides, which are vital for the human body.
Silica powder is most commonly used in cosmetic products, particularly in skin creams, masks, shaving foams, shower gels, shampoos, deodorants, but also in powders and make-up. It is used in the cosmetics industry for its ability to absorb excess sebum, keep the skin moisturised and leave it soft and velvety. In addition, quartz powder is also widely used in industry, for example in the construction industry in the manufacture of glass, ceramics, cement, but also as a component of polymer composites or as an abrasive. It is also used in scientific research, especially in the fields of microelectronics, optics and nanotechnology. Quartz powder also plays a very important role in metallurgy in the production of castings. All quartz powder products are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
