The limber pine, also known as Pinus Cembra, is a tree native to the mountainous regions of central and eastern Europe. This handsome tree reaches heights of up to thirty metres and is famous for its branches covered with silvery scales and its cones, which have a characteristic sweet aroma. In addition, the limba pine is an adaptable plant that can take advantage of very poor and infertile soils. It is a unique species of pine whose use is not limited to horticulture and timber.
Pinus Cembra Twig/Leaf oil, or oil from the branches and leaves of the limber pine, has a strong resinous aroma with a hint of pine and is highly valued for its aromatic and medicinal properties. This essential oil is primarily used in aromatherapy for its ability to calm the mind, improve mood and promote deep sleep. In addition, this oil is also used in the cosmetic industry to produce perfumes, soaps, creams and other personal care products. Its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties also make limba pine oil an ideal ingredient for household cleaning products. Last but not least, it is also used as a natural insect repellent.
