Myo-inositol

Myo-inositol, also known as cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexol or cis-1,2,3,4,5,6-cyclohexanhexol, is a substance that occurs naturally in many foods such as fruits, cereals, nuts and seeds. This unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbon is a component of B vitamins and is involved in a number of important biochemical processes in the human body. In dietary supplements, myo-inositol is often used in capsule form, with a common dose of approximately 250 mg per capsule.
