The slender lopatera, also known as brittle lopatera or Dan Zhu Ye, is a species of plant that belongs to the lichen family. This plant is considered an important part of traditional Chinese medicine, in which it has been used for several thousand years. Its native habitat is mainly in South and East Asia, especially in China and India. Lopatera slenderis a perennial grass that grows up to 80 cm in height. Its leaves are long, slender and sharp, flattened, with a sharp central vein and are brown in colour. The plant flowers in summer from June to August and produces a fruiting body containing small seeds.
