The lemon tree (Citrus medica limonum) is a species of evergreen fruit tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. This tree is native to southwest Asia and is also known by the names lemon or limon. The lemon tree is a low tree that can reach a height of up to 6 metres. It is characterised by oval leathery leaves with serrated edges and a strong citrus scent. The flowers of this tree are white with a purple tinge on the outside. The fruit of the lemon tree is oval to pear-shaped with yellow to yellow-green skin and an intense citrus aroma.
