Kombucha, also known in Czech as kombuča, is a drink obtained by fermenting tea. This fermented beverage originally originated in East Asia, but over the last few years it has become very popular all over the world. Kombucha is valued for its health benefits, which are mainly associated with its probiotic properties and vitamin content. The tradition of kombucha production dates back thousands of years and is associated with several myths and legends.
The kombucha drink is mainly used as a consumable product, sold in bottles in many different varieties and flavours. In addition to classic kombucha, there are also variants flavoured with different fruits, herbs or spices. In addition to the beverage, kombucha is also used in the cosmetics industry. For example, for the production of face masks, tonics and serums, where its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are used. Furthermore, kombucha is also used for the production of liqueurs and wine vinegars. With the growing popularity of this drink, kombucha is also appearing in other products such as ice cream and biscuits.
