It is an ester of isopropyl alcohol and isostearic acid that is characterized by emollient properties, meaning that it has the ability to soften and moisturize the skin. This synthetically produced chemical element, which belongs to the group of fatty alcohols, has a key function in cosmetic products, for example as a moisturising ingredient, but also as a surfactant formulation.
More specifically, Isopropyl Isostearate is mainly used in the cosmetics industry, where its properties make it a moisturizing and nourishing ingredient. It is mainly found in various creams, lotions, make-up, but also in some personal care products such as washing gels or shampoos. Thanks to its emollient properties, it is able to moisturise and nourish the skin well, while giving it a soft and silky appearance. At the same time, Isopropyl Isostearate can improve the consistency and final appearance of cosmetic products, which is especially appreciated by make-up lovers. Despite its synthetic nature, this substance is considered safe and harmless in cosmetics.
