This plant is widespread not only throughout the Czech Republic, but practically all over the world. Its occurrence is typical in fields, meadows, but also on the edges of forests where it grows wild. Horsetail is used in a variety of products. One of the most commonly used products where horsetail is applied is cosmetics. Thanks to its active ingredients, such as silicic acid, it has a beneficial effect on the skin and hair. It is a popular ingredient in various creams, ointments, shampoos and conditioners. In addition, horsetail is also used in herbal medicine. Due to its diuretic and anti-inflammatory effect, it is used in the treatment of various urinary and kidney disorders. It enters into herbal teas for its chillation and positive effect on immunity. In the construction industry, its essential oils are used to make emery.
