Ethyl Linoleate is an organic compound that is also known by the names ethyl (9Z,12Z)-octadecadienoate. This substance is an ester of linoleic acid and ethanol and is classified as a fatty alcohol. Ethyl Linoleate is one of the unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for the human body. However, the body cannot make this substance on its own, it must obtain it from food.

Ethyl Linoleate is used in several areas. It is very often contained in cosmetic products, where it serves as a stabilizer, antistatic and emollient ingredient. However, it can also be found in some pharmaceuticals where it helps to relieve inflammation and pain. It is also a component of food, especially vegetable oils such as linseed, sunflower, soybean or corn oil, which are rich in unsaturated fatty acids. Last but not least, Ethyl Linoleate can also be found in some flavourings where it serves as a flavour and aroma enhancer.
