Eucalyptus, also known as Elderberry, is a medicinal plant belonging to the family of the deaf-worm family. This woody perennial bears dark green leaves and spiky, bright red flowers that are unique in their characteristic arrangement in dense, oddly-shaped spikes. For many centuries, this plant has been and still is used in traditional folk medicine for many purposes.
Elderberry is a raw material for the preparation of teas, tinctures, extracts, but also honey. The tea from the mullein is mainly used for digestive problems and inflammation of the urinary tract, but it also has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, helps with insomnia and is also effective for menstrual difficulties. The tincture is then used in the treatment of wounds, ulcers and eczema. Buckeye extract is added to medicinal ointments, creams and oils. The flowers and leaves of this plant are also the main ingredient in buckeye honey, which is prized for its unique aroma and medicinal properties. Elderberry is thus a plant whose potential is exploited in a wide range of products.
