Buckwheat, also known as Millet grain, is a type of cereal that forms an important part of the diet in many parts of the world, especially in Africa and Asia. It is notable for its protein, fibre and many vitamins and minerals. Among their most notable features is the fact that they are gluten-free, making them suitable for people with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. This cereal also has a low glycaemic index, making it suitable for diabetics.
Oats are used to make a variety of different foods and, because of their availability and nutritional value, are a staple in many people's diets. Perhaps the most well-known product made from barley is barley bread, but the cereal is also used in many other foods. They can be used as a side dish with meat, as a substitute for rice or pasta, or they can be sprouted and eaten as a sprout in a salad or as an ingredient in a smoothie. They are also a component of some beers and are important in Chinese medicine, where they are used to treat stomach and intestinal problems.
