Cyclopentadecanone, also known by the names Cyclopentadecanone or Exaltone cyclopentadecanone, is an aromatic chemical compound that is mainly used in industry as a fragrance and flavoring agent. Its intoxicating, almizy scent is very popular in perfumery and cosmetics. It belongs to the group of macrocyclic compounds that are characterized by consisting of a carbon skeleton with large ring structures. They have unique abilities to bind and release fragrances and are often used as fixatives in perfume formulations.
Cyclopentadecanone is also used in the manufacture of various types of perfumes, toilet waters, deodorants and other personal care products.
