Colloidal Gold, also known as colloidal gold or CI 77480, is part of many products we use in our everyday lives. It is a term used to describe tiny particles of gold that are suspended in another substance, often water. For example, one study found that colloidal gold can improve cognitive function. However, its use is much broader and more diverse than just in medicine.
For example, colloidal gold is used in cosmetics. It is included in many anti-aging products, where it is used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is particularly attractive to cosmetics manufacturers because of its ability to reflect light and thus visually reduce wrinkles and pores. Despite its dark red colour, it appears as a shiny golden hue in the final product. Colloidal gold is also used in medicine, primarily for its ability to penetrate cell membranes, which is useful for drug delivery. It is also used in electronics and optics, due to its unique properties that allow efficient manipulation of light.
