CI 15850 is an organic chemical pigment, which is also referred to in the cosmetic industry as Red 6, E 180, Pigment Red 57, Red 7 Lake or D&C Red No. 6. Its name Litholrubin BK is known especially in the world of painters. This additive is popular for its distinctive red color and is often included in a wide range of cosmetic products.

CI 15850 is mainly used in cosmetic and personal care products such as lipsticks, nail polishes, make-up, mascara, eye shadow, blush or various creams. This pigment is popular for its ability to intensely color a product without the need to add large amounts of substance. It is also able to provide long-lasting stable color and is resistant to light and heat. In addition to cosmetics, it is also used in the food industry as an E 180 food colouring, especially in confectionery, beverages or baked goods. Although it is a synthetic dye, it is considered safe for human health.
