C13-14 Isoparaffin, sometimes also simply called Isoparaffin, is a synthetic ingredient made from the kerosene industry. It is primarily recognized for its emollient and dissolving properties, meaning that it acts to soften, emollify, and dissolve other ingredients in cosmetic and chemical products. It is odourless and colourless and has a high degree of purity. Although it comes from the petroleum industry, it is not classified as a carcinogen or mutagen.
C13-14 Isoparaffin can often be found in a wide range of cosmetic products from different brands. This is most commonly found in skin care products such as moisturizers, serums and masks. However, due to its properties, it is also used in decorative cosmetics, hair care products and body care products. Outside the cosmetics industry, it is also used in the chemical industry, particularly in household cleaning and bleaching products. Thanks to its specific properties, it can effectively dissolve various types of impurities and at the same time act as a softening agent.
