Apatit

Harm score: 1 (Natural substances)

Apatite, like many others, is a rather odd name for a substance that has nothing to do with the mineral known by the same name. In the world of chemistry it is known as Anisyl alcohol, or also para-anisyl alcohol, 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol, or simply anis collection. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic smell of oranges that is slightly soluble in water and mixes well with ether.

Anisyl alcohol is mainly used in perfumery and cosmetics, where it adds a unique, exotic and invigorating scent to various beauty and care products. It can be found in perfumes, air fresheners, aromatherapy oils, soaps and other personal care products. Its antiseptic and antibacterial properties also help protect the skin from infection. Research is also currently underway into its possible therapeutic properties. Interestingly, although this alcohol is synthetic, it is considered safe and its use is approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Apatit can be found in the following products
