Populus, also known as Tremula vulgaris, Populus tremula, black poplar or Aspen, is a plant that has many uses. It is a member of the berry family and can live up to 200 years. This herb grows to a height of 10 to 60 cm and is characterised by its light green, feathery leaves. It flowers from May to September and grows in drier meadows, sandy areas or hillsides. At first glance, it looks inconspicuous, but its medicinal effects are all the more pronounced.
For example, it is used to make ointment, which has strong medicinal properties. Thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, it is used to treat wounds and skin problems. In addition, it is also used to make a medicinal tea which has beneficial effects on our health. It promotes digestion, strengthens the immune system and helps in the treatment of various infections. The bolhoj plant also produces an essential oil used in aromatherapy for its calming and relaxing effects. Uses of the Edelweiss bollworm can also be found in the cosmetic industry, where it is widely used in skin and hair products for its nourishing and moisturizing effects.
One of the important products is the Aspen essence, which is part of the Bach Flower Essences. Aspen is ideal for people who suffer from unexplained fears or have a fear of the unknown. It helps them overcome these feelings and find inner peace and balance. Aspen tea is also popular in folk healing for its effects on the digestive system. It has a mild laxative effect and promotes digestion.
Even though eelgrass is protected in the Czech Republic, its medicinal and cosmetic uses are becoming increasingly popular. However, when collecting it, it is necessary to respect the laws of nature and not to endanger its natural occurrence in our countryside.
