Product description Blossombs Seed Bombs - Gift Set of Christmas Ornaments (7 pcs) - Original Christmas Decoration
In this amazing set, the Dutch company Blossombs has hidden 7 original Christmas ornaments that serve 4 practical purposes – they can be used as tree decorations, Christmas cards, and gift tags. And what's more - you can eventually grow a small meadow from them! These 100% natural, colorful clay balls contain seeds of organic wild meadow flowers, such as poppy, cornflower, or clover, and once in bloom, they provide a haven and food for curious butterfly proboscises. Now that's what we call a gift with real meaning. :)
In the Netherlands, the charming founders Daisy de Bruijn and Geerten van Eldik from Blossombs had a clever idea – to craft 100% natural colorful balls made of clay, wild meadow flower seeds, natural dye, and nutrients. These seed bombs, once germinated and in bloom, host and feed bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and other insects that are so crucial for the ecosystem. And furthermore – those who plant, don't misbehave. Will you join in? :)
- It's definitely an original and practical gift all in one.
- They are crafted from 100% natural ingredients.
- Once in bloom, they provide a natural refuge full of food for bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and other insects that are important for the ecosystem.
- You can have a small meadow even in an apartment – on a balcony or by the window.
- Seed bombs will grow even in a pot.
- They bring joy.
- When the first green plant starts peeking out from the soil, which you've grown yourself, it's simply a wonderful feeling. :)
Usage:
- You can plant a seed bomb at any time of the year, but the flowers will sprout roughly from March to October.
- The flowers in Blossombs bombs are annuals. If you sow the bomb from March to September, it will bloom the same year.
- If you plant it out of season, you can look forward to the harvest next spring unless the seeds are eaten by birds or insects.
- The clay balls contain an organic mix of wildflower seeds that can bloom at different times.
- Some flowers will appear right in spring, others in autumn. Nature will surprise you in its own way :)
Where to plant a seed bomb?
- Anywhere, ideally outside in a garden, around the house, or where meadow flowers would bring joy.
- You can also plant the ball in a pot on the balcony or by the window.
- Keep in mind that seeds love plenty of light, space, and nutritious soil.
- Do not sow Blossombs in protected natural reserves.
How to plant a seed bomb?
- You can place up to 4 balls per 1 m² of outdoor soil.
- If you want a meadow in a pot, for a 20 cm diameter, 1 to 3 balls are sufficient.
- For a long balcony planter, 3 to 6 balls lined up next to each other per 1 m are ideal.
- For a denser growth, you can use more, but be aware that the flowers may compete with each other and not all will grow or bloom equally.
- Gently press the bomb into soft soil, not too deep – just enough to remain visible on the surface, and water it or wait for rain.
- After a few days, the balls will crack as the first green plants start to emerge.
- After about 8 weeks (and around April, when it's warm enough), the first meadow flowers will start to appear.
